Dr. Howard Taylor Howard S. Taylor, M.D.

Dr. Taylor grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. His father, a Gastroenterologist, was a major force in shaping his love of medicine. Dr. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University as well as a Master’s degree in Physiological Psychology from Georgia State University before receiving his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He interned at the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his Neurology residency at the University of California in Irvine. Dr. Taylor then completed a Neurophysiology (Electroencephalography and Electromyography) Fellowship, also at the University of California in Irvine. He is Board Certified in Neurology.

In 1993, Dr. Taylor moved to Portland to start his Neurology practice with Dr. Crumpacker. He is married, has two young sons, and enjoys photography, music, snowboarding, biking, and tennis.


Dr. LupuVitalie D. Lupu, M.D.

Dr. Vitalie Lupu was born in Moldova, Europe, and received his MD degree from the State Medical and Pharmaceutical University of Moldova in 1994. He spent two years as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Neurosciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He then trained as Medicine Intern at the Atlantic City Medical Center, New Jersey. Dr. Lupu completed his Neurology training as Resident and Chief Resident at the Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He then pursued further sub-specialty training and finished a two year Clinical Fellowship in Electromyography and Neurophysiology at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Lupu started as a Neurologist in Portland in the summer of 2006. He is a native speaker of Romanian and Russian.

Dr. Lupu is Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has published several original peer-reviewed basic and clinical research articles.


Dr. CrumpackerRobert W. Crumpacker, M.D.

Dr. Crumpacker was born in Rochester, Minnesota and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado. He did work on a Master's Degree in English Literature at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and briefly taught English in Appleton, Wisconsin. Changing his professional direction, Dr. Crumpacker then attended medical school at the University of Kansas graduating in 1968. After a year of internship at Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, he did his Neurology training at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis. His Neurology residency was interrupted by two years of Army service at Darnell Army Hospital in Kileen, Texas, where Dr. Crumpacker served as Chief of Neurology. After completing his Neurology training in Minneapolis in 1975, he then settled in Portland, Oregon and has lived there since. Dr. Crumpacker is Board Certified in Neurology.
